The three Kinds of People on Your Journey
It is said we are the sum total of the five people we hang around with the most…Many of us are influenced by our upbringing and support; or lack thereof. I meet many smart people who have been discouraged to pursue their dreams or told to take the safe, secure path. Not sure there is job security or a safe path anymore…
You can’t talk about a launch of a new idea or forging a new identity for yourself without talking about people — because who you walk with determines how far you rise. I am honored to walk together through your journey!
Every entrepreneur meets three types of people along the way, and each one shapes you differently.
Those who were there for you in difficult times.
The ones who saw your potential before the world did. The ones who stayed when things were uncertain. Keep them close — they are reminders of your foundation, your character, and your “why.”
Those who left you in difficult times.
It stings, but it’s a gift. They reveal what doesn’t belong in your next chapter. They teach you discernment, boundaries, and the power of protecting your peace. Let them go — and take the lesson with you.
Those who put you in difficult times.
The critics, doubters, and toxic obstacles dressed as people. Quietly thank them. They forced you to grow muscles you never would’ve built in comfort — resilience, grit, and unshakeable confidence.
Your job isn’t to win everyone over — it’s to guard your energy and surround yourself with people who stretch your vision, elevate your standards, and challenge you to become the highest version of yourself.
Grab a blank page or whiteboard and make three columns:
Inner Circle: People who amplify you forward
Mentors/Models: People who’ve achieved what you aspire to
Future Allies: People you want to meet or collaborate with
Under each name, write:
What they bring into your life (clarity, wisdom, accountability, etc.)
How you can intentionally add value back to them
“You can’t create social change or build an empire with people who still think small.”
My Inner Circle!
The ones who challenge my thinking, speak hard truths, and sharpen the vision. Real accountability. Real growth.
This is the circle that inspires me to make waves!
